// Important lessons I’ve learned from people young, old, and in-between //
1. Never feel shy to ask for two things in life – Food and Sex.
2. The only thing that should hit a woman is coffee.
3. On your deathbed, only three things matter – How happily we lived, how much we loved, and how we let go of things that are not meant for us *gracefully*.
4. There will be chaos before clarity and revelation will step at your door before revolution enters your heart.
5. Don’t announce your next move, sometimes, not even to your closest friends.
6. Ask. Always ask. If you find the courage to ask, you’ll get what you want.
7. If you can go to a movie and a bar alone and thoroughly enjoy yourself, you can do anything.
8. Stop and remove the stone stuck in your slipper, or it’ll disturb every step of the beautiful journey that lies ahead.
9. In almost any situation, try and give your friends the benefit of doubt.
10.
Show up.
Show up when your friend’s dad passes away, show up at work when you feel low (attempt), show up for that uncomfortable conversation.
Showing up is all we can do some days.
11. Take all unsolicited pieces of advice and shove it up their ass. Nobody knows it better than you do.
12. Spend some time to talk to your parents about their childhood. You’ll know that they did the best with what they knew and what they had.
13. If somebody is the last person on the planet and you’d be okay sleeping with them, there’s a high probability you’d sleep with them even if they are not.
14. Your mom always knows. Don’t even think otherwise. Just play along.
15. When somebody says something that triggers you, ask yourself who they are and where they come from before you give your response.
16. Time is a myth, but timing is magical. Fate beats intelligence, but nevertheless, learn and persevere.
17. See beyond what people say. No amount of rationale can overpower intuition.
18. Constantly question your beliefs and be ready to change them.
19. Kiss. Kiss often, and kiss a lot.
20. There will be friends and family who will believe and limit you to that older version they once knew. Don’t feel guilty to unleash newer versions.
21. We can avoid. We can cut. But, the left-wing supporters can never fully get rid of the right-wing supporters. Sometimes, it’s your father or even your best friend.
22. Don’t be the best in a room. It’s boring. Get a different room.
23. Not having an opinion is not an opinion. It is just a place of privilege.
24. Money is perception. For some, it’s a small amount but they are happier. For some, it’s a means to provide. For some, nothing is enough. For most, it’s a matter of self-worth.
25. Friends who nudge you to read a book that improves your skill or suggest a course because they somehow see you thrive in it are significant. Keep them close.
26. If you can commit, get a dog/cat. If you can’t, feed strays. But always choose dogs/cats, life gets bearable!
27. Willing to teach and teaching each other about anything and everything without hurting each other’s ego is a skill we all need because literally “Everything can be learnt.”
28. Choices ache. But they have to be made.
29. We might not find the romantic love or companionship we are longing for. We’ll do okay.
30. The world should be drunk. Everyone is real, kinder, and vulnerable.
